Frequently asked questions

How does the annual leave planner work?

It looks at every possible break in your leave year, counts how many days of annual leave each one costs once weekends and bank holidays are taken into account, and then picks the combination that gives you the most days off without going over your allowance.

How can I get more days off?

Book leave next to bank holidays. Around Easter, four days of leave either side of Good Friday and Easter Monday gives you 10 days off, and eight days gives you 16. At Christmas, three or four days between Christmas and New Year often turns into 9 or 10 days off.

Does it work for part-time workers?

Yes. Choose the days you normally work and the planner treats your other days as days off, so it only counts leave on your working days.

What if my leave year doesn't start in January?

Choose the month your holiday year starts – many employers use April – and the planner will plan across that 12-month period.
